Privacy policy
When you view this site, you agree to the following: (Last modified: 2007-08-28)
-
Under no circumstances will I sell any of your personal information, or try to make a profit off of it. I WILL NOT SPAM YOU. Of course, if you post your email address in an un-obfuscated manner, you are practically asking for others (who use email-harvesting bots) to spam you. I'm not accountable for any of that- it's your own lookout.
-
When you post a comment on this site, a cookie may be set. This cookie contains the name, url, and email address you submit, but no other data about you. It is only used so that in future visits to the site you don't have to re-enter this information.
-
Certain information about you, such as your IP address and computer hostname, as well as information regarding when you access this site, will be logged. I have no intention of using this information for any purpose besides keeping website statistics, UNLESS for some reason I feel you have been abusive, in which case I will take actions to protect myself and/or find out where you live and sick rabid badgers on you in your sleep.
Abuse consists of (but may not be limited to) any of the following:
- Harrassing me (disagreeing or arguing with me is not harrassing, annoying me incessantly and/or being a jerk-off is harrassing)
- Trying to break into this webserver, or any other computer I administer
- Taking my content and using it in a way which ignores its license
- Trying to conduct any unsolicited advertising using my site (such as leaving spammish comments)
-
Any content you submit to this site (comments, etc) becomes part of the site. The copyright is still yours, but by submitting it you allow me the right to redisplay it as I see fit. Though I may modify anything you submit for compliance with web standards, the original message remains yours and I will not change the meaning behind what you say. If I find the message entirely unsuitable (e.g., it's assinine, or it's spam) I will delete it, but I will not leave your name on it and change it to have an altered meaning. Neither will I steal what you say and claim that I am the one who originally said it.
-
Time cannot be undone- if you submit something you can't "unsend" it (just like you can't "unsay" things in real life). If you really want me to take down or change something you submitted, then ask, but I may or may not listen. It's better to think before you speak (or type, as it were).
I feel that this is fair, and protects your rights as well as mine. This is flexible, and if you feel it is evil or unfair in some way, I'd be happy to talk about it more.
If you feel I'm being particularly unreasonable, well- you don't have to use the site then, do you?
